News:
June 5, 2000: Hey Everybody! W3Mail 1.0.0pre2 is out thanks to the help of Juerg Raess (jraess@oxygen.ch). Everyone should definitely upgrade to this release, as it fixes the attachment sending bug, and sports a whole new look. Enjoy...

May 22, 2000: I am pleased to announce W3Mail 1.0.0pre1. This is the first beta for what will soon be a stable 1.0.0 release. I'm entering a feature freeze, so very few features will be added from now until the release of 1.0.0. There are still bugs which need to be fixed in W3Mail before a final release, and I'd greatly appreciate any help in tracking those down.

May 17, 2000: W3Mail 0.9.6 has been released. You can pick up your copy here. This release contains numerous bug fixes as well as various additions to the inbox (inbox.cgi). MD5 is now included in the perl.modules.tar.gz distribution, which may fix installation problems for certain users. As of today, there have been more than 8,000 downloads of W3Mail!

April 26, 2000: It has come to my attention that there is a bug concerning the file header.body. This file is no longer used, and wasn't distributed with this version, however, userprefs.cgi still relied on this file, and when it doesn't exist you may recieve an error saying "can't open file:". To fix this simply create a dummy header.body file with ":> header.body". I'm very sorry about the trouble, it'll be fixed in the next release. Be sure to keep sending me bug reports and ideas for feature releases. Thanks.

April 25, 2000: Hey everybody, W3Mail 0.9.5 is now available. We're that much closer to a stable 1.0. This release fixes a bug which prevented users from logging in under certain circumstances. It also has some new features. There is a link in showmessage.cgi now which will add that persons email to your address book, sorta handy. Be sure to let me know what you think, and lets track down bugs. If you have any ideas for cool features, let me know also. If anybody is willing to put together a Help file for W3Mail that would also be great. Be sure to check out the brand new screenshots of 0.9.5 also, isn't it beautiful? Thanks a lot.

April 13, 2000: W3Mail 0.9.4 has finally been released. Sorry it took so long, I've been very busy lately. Quite a few annoying bugs have been fixed, and W3Mail now has long awaited address book support. I'm getting very close to a 1.0 release, so just help track down bugs and we'll get there shortly.

W3Mail 0.9.3 has been released as of March 1, 2000. Check the ChangeLog for a list of features. There is lots of new stuff. Better security, mime support, and it's now released under the GPL. Be sure to upgrade, and let me know what you think.

W3Mail 0.9.2 has been released. Lots of new features. Be sure to check it out!

Screenshots from version 0.9.2 have been posted. It's looking pretty spiffy.

W3Mail now sports a redesigned website.

W3Mail 0.9.0a has been released. It addresses problems that occur when $datadir doesn't have write access.
