Procedure for lodging tax evasion complaints

If you are aware that some person has evaded tax, you can lodge a complaint with his assessing officer, the supervisory officers of the said assessing officer (Addl. CIT of the range or the CIT/CCIT of that charge). Complaints of Delhi region can also be filed with DGIT(Investigation), 4th floor, Mayur Bhawan, Connaught Circus, New Delhi or with DIT(Inv.), 2nd floor, E-2 ERA center, Jhandewalan Extension, New Delhi. If the information furnished by the complainant leads to payment of additional tax by the person searched, the complainant can be monetarily rewarded by the Department. The Department keeps the identity of complainants secret .
